Our current artist-in-residence, Megan Singleton, is keeping herself busy this month. On May 4th, from 4-8 pm, she'll be holding a workshop at the New Orleans Community Print Shop, where participants will learn paper making with plants. Megan will be discussing all of the steps involved in producing paper as well as the different plants suitable for creating beautiful, textured paper.
While at ASITW, Megan is continuing her research of invasive plants and using them to make the paper seen in her "pulp paintings." The images are based on infrared aerial photography of the Louisiana landscapes that she has pulled the plant material from. www.megansingleton.com
